About me
I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself. I am a board-certified family practice physician in the urgent care clinic, and have worked at Kaiser Permanente since 2002.
Biography
I was born in Iran, and moved to Southern California at the age of nine. I completed my bachelor's degree in biochemistry and psychobiology at UC Riverside, followed by a master’s degree in biochemistry, which allowed me the exciting privilege of working with NASA. My virus experiments were on board the 1992 space shuttle mission. I attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences, and completed my residency at Downey Regional Hospital. I have worked in private practice, group practice, and even made house calls to movie studios and airlines. After marrying my wonderful husband, and having two lovely children, I joined Kaiser Permanente. Working here has given me the flexibility to tailor my work schedule around my family needs.
About my practice
As an urgent care physician, I get to know and treat new people every day. I feel very fortunate to have a job that I enjoy so much. Even though my job is to take care of your urgent medical needs, the family practitioner in me always looks for ways that I can assist your personal physician in promoting healthy living and preventive care. I do my best to encourage patients to use moderation in all things in order to optimize physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness, and, most importantly, to be happy.
How I thrive
I spend most of my free time with my loving and supportive husband and two daughters. As a family, we take long walks on the beach collecting seashells, tend to our fruit and vegetable garden, feed crackers to the giraffes at the zoo, and work on art projects. We enjoy Disneyland, the aquarium, the Discovery Center, biking, and cooking healthier versions of favorite foods. I have discovered you can hide soy and ground flax seed in many recipes! My other hobbies include karate – I am a black belt, teaching women self-defense classes, triathlons, floral design, and crafting.
