About me
Thank you for visiting my Web page. I hope you will find it informative. I truly believe we have an outstanding team in our department that strives to deliver high-quality eye care.
Biography
I was born and raised in Los Angeles and completed my undergraduate studies at Georgetown University. As a Rhodes scholar semifinalist, and after graduating summa cum laude from Georgetown, I was awarded a four-year scholarship to attend medical school at UC Davis. I earned the annual award in ophthalmology as a medical student there. I completed my ophthalmology residency training at UC San Diego, where the medical students chose me to receive the Outstanding Resident Teaching Award. I joined Kaiser full time in 2010. I am very active in advocating on behalf of my patients and colleagues, and am a member of the California Medical Association, the American Medical Association, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. I have served on two of their boards, and have received a number of awards including the 2008 AMA Foundation Excellence in Medicine Leadership Award. I also help ensure patient quality and safety as an examiner of doctors for the American Board of Ophthalmology.
About my practice
I am a comprehensive ophthalmologist, which means that I am trained in diseases and surgery of the eye. I work closely with my fellow ophthalmologists as a team to deliver high-quality eye care to our members. I have a particular interest in cataract surgery and the management of complicated cataracts, and also have training in premium multifocal lenses, allowing me to offer members a wider range of choices for their cataract surgery. I truly believe it is a privilege to practice medicine, and it is an honor to be a part of my members' lives. I strive to treat my members as I would treat my own friends and family. I absolutely love what I do, and cannot think of a better way for me to do my little bit of good in this world.
How I thrive
When I'm not with my members, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. My husband and I enjoy grilling on the BBQ (I'm famous for my steaks!), skiing, and traveling. But what we love most is spending time with our young twins. My life is well-balanced because I love my profession and members, and I keep the most important things in life—my husband, parents, family, and friends—close to my heart.
