Kaiser Permanente physician
My gender: Female
Accepting new patients. Referral may be required.
Welcome! I am a colorectal surgeon with Kaiser Permanente in the Antelope Valley.
I am originally from the East Coast, but I moved west for my fellowship training and fell in love with California. I am happy to say I have chosen to settle here and couldn’t be happier. I have three cute dogs and a new baby. I participate in my local church on the weekends.
I chose to specialize in the field of colorectal surgery largely because of my aunt. She developed metastatic colon cancer while I was a resident. I realized that her sad passing was a sign for me to get involved in a field where I could try to dispel the shame and fear some people have of seeing a surgeon. I hope to comfort my patients who have medical issues that they might be uncomfortable talking about.
I try to exercise daily, although a day of rest is not unheard of. I think it is very important to keep fit and eat healthily. I like hiking, running, acupuncture, and snowboarding, which also allow me to keep mentally healthy by releasing life stresses. In addition, I turn to my faith to help me with daily struggles because no one can do it alone!
