Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I hope the information I share provides you with a better understanding of who I am as a person and as a physician. There are many great physicians practicing at Kaiser Permanente and I’m honored to have them as colleagues. I feel we all share a commitment to excellence and innovation in health care. Our focus is on the health of our members, and our goal is to provide the best possible responses to their concerns.
I was born and raised in San Francisco. I moved to San Diego to complete my undergraduate studies, then returned to the Bay Area to complete medical school and my residency training. I feel very fortunate to have been able to complete my training in the Bay Area because it allowed me to spend time with my extended family. I later moved to the Los Angeles area with my wife so we could be closer to her family. We have three grown boys who are now pursuing their own careers.
About my practice
A career in medicine was a goal of mine from an early age. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to help people with their health. I have a combination practice of general anesthesia and interventional pain medicine. Each area of my practice is rewarding because it allows me to help members at what is usually a stressful time for them. I feel that if I provide them with a caring and compassionate environment, they’ll have a better opportunity to overcome their challenges.
How I thrive
My family is the focus of my life away from the medical center. We enjoy an active lifestyle that includes various sporting activities like SCUBA diving, skiing, jogging, and biking. I’ve run multiple marathons throughout the United States. The best time of the year for my family is our traditional, one-week ski trip during the winter. Skiing down a powder run with my family is absolutely the definition of living well for me.
