Where I practice
Hi, and welcome to my Web page. I’m one of the pathologists here at Kaiser Permanente San Diego Medical Center.
I was born in Takoma Park, Maryland, but grew up in Curitiba in southern Brazil. I came back to the United States in 1991. Because I love the different scientific fields and have an interest in the care of living beings, the medical field was a natural choice for me. Originally, I practiced veterinary medicine, however, my interest in care for humans grew stronger so I headed to medical school.
About my practice
Not until after medical school did I understand the practice of pathology, and I was hooked. Our pathology department is a large group with a very busy and satisfying practice. We share our most interesting and challenging cases in our daily meetings. Kaiser Permanente allows me to practice pathology with freedom, which means I can focus on caring for members without having to concern myself with the business side of the practice.
How I thrive
My family is extremely important for me. I enjoy the company of my wife, as well as our two children. As expected (growing up in Brazil), soccer has been my main form of exercise, and to my surprise, I’ve found many different venues to keep playing here in San Diego. Acoustic guitar has been another form of relaxation. I also enjoy and practice my chosen religion.
