Where I practice
About me
I am a board-certified medical oncologist practicing at Kaiser Permanente’s Fontana and Ontario Medical Offices in the Hematology/Oncology Department. I am committed to providing compassionate care that is based on evidence and current research and to supporting members and their families throughout every step of their cancer journey.
Biography
I am originally from the Philippines and have long been drawn to the field of hematology and oncology —not only for its potential for scientific advancement, but also for the deeply meaningful relationships formed between physician and patient.
I completed my medical training at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City and at North Shore University–Long Island Jewish Medical Center. After finishing my training in 2012, I spent 5 years practicing in a medically underserved community in Kansas, an experience that greatly shaped my commitment to equitable, high-quality cancer care.
I later relocated to Southern California to be closer to family and have been grateful to continue my career in a region and community that feel like home.
About my practice
I am truly delighted to be part of the Hematology/Medical Oncology program at Kaiser Permanente’s Fontana Medical Center and to be part of the organization’s vision, values, and dedication to delivering high-quality care to the community.
It is a privilege to work alongside a team of oncologists who are committed to member-centered, responsive, and research-driven care. Together, we strive to ensure that every member receives personalized treatment informed by the latest scientific evidence and national best practices.
Regional Multidisciplinary Teams
As an active member of regional breast and thoracic multidisciplinary teams and our tumor board, I collaborate closely with experts in medical oncology, hematology, radiation oncology, surgery, pathology, and other specialties. This collaborative approach allows us to develop comprehensive, individualized treatment strategies and ensures that members — especially those with malignant hematologic conditions — receive care tailored to their specific needs.
Research and Clinical Trials
I am actively involved in several prestigious National Cancer Institute–supported oncology research networks, including SWOG Cancer Research Network, the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP), the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, and NRG Oncology. As a sub-investigator on multiple clinical trials, I work to bring innovative and promising treatments directly to our Kaiser Permanente community. In addition to clinical trials, my research interests include cancer survivorship, with a focus on improving long-term health, reducing complications, and minimizing recurrence risk for patients who have completed treatment.
How I thrive
I believe that maintaining a balanced life allows me to better support members and their families. I thrive by spending meaningful time with my loved ones, especially my husband. We are both enthusiastic food lovers and enjoy discovering new restaurants and culinary experiences together. In my free time, I also enjoy traveling and watching musicals, which bring joy, inspiration, and relaxation to my life.
