Where I practice
Hello, and welcome to my Web page. The thought of surgery can be stressful, as you will need to make important decisions about your health and treatment plan. I want to earn your trust, as this is a vital part of the doctor-patient relationship, and I hope that this page will help you get to know me better.
As a member of a Korean immigrant family in Northern Virginia, I was raised understanding the importance of education and hard work. I attended the University of Virginia for college and medical school, and moved to the West Coast for my residency at UCLA. I grew to love Southern California and stayed here with my wife and two children.
About my practice
After practicing with Kaiser Permanente for many years, I left the group to serve on a medical mission in Ethiopia starting in 2012. I returned to the Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center in 2015 where I appreciate the camaraderie that I share with the many specialists here at Kaiser Permanente. I enjoy all aspects of general surgery including hernia and cancer operations, and I have a special interest in laparoscopic colon surgery.
How I thrive
I enjoy trying different ethnic cuisines and my wife is an excellent cook and advocate for healthy eating. I ran the LA marathon many years ago but I most enjoy exercise through playing sports with my two children. In addition to physical health, I believe in spiritual and emotional wellness through prayer and devotional reading.
