Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. It’s a pleasure to be able to introduce myself to you.
I grew up in Los Angeles, and with my family, I enjoy the outdoors, books, plays, concerts, tennis, and the wonderful sunshine. I also enjoy being involved in my religious community, and am devoted to lifelong learning in many venues.
About my practice
I am a psychiatrist who has been practicing for the last 33 years with Kaiser Permanente. I enjoy working in a multidisciplinary setting with our staff of social workers, marriage and family therapists, psychologists, and physicians. My role in this team centers on medication management. I have also a strong interest in cognitive behavioral therapy, which can help people understand the thoughts and feelings that influence their behavior, and try to integrate that treatment into my approach to each patient. I am also involved in teaching psychiatry weekly to Kaiser Permanente family medicine residents, and in the past to UCLA medical students. As a result I am an Assistant Clinical Professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
How I thrive
I very much enjoy lengthy walks on the beach in my spare time. I love spending time with my wife, kids, grandkids, and extended family; good food and dining out, visiting museums, and attending cultural events. I usually exercise daily and have played tennis my entire life and still try to excel at that. I love plants, nature, and the out of doors. I try to keep up with advances and research in my profession, reading widely in it, and also in many other areas. I love going to a good movie with my wife as often as we can, and I also enjoy watching some of the great offerings on PBS. Being involved with my friends and religious community is also essential to me.
