Where I practice
Hello and welcome to my Web page! I am a board certified family medicine physician at the Kaiser Permanente Rancho Bernardo Medical Offices; I am also a board certified primary care sports medicine physician.
The youngest of three boys, I was born and raised in a loving and multicultural home in Los Angeles. My father is Japanese and my mother is Mexican. My oldest brother, Keith, is also a Kaiser Permanente family medicine physician at the Kaiser Permanente Bonita Medical Offices. My other brother, Eric, is an engineer in Orange County. I completed my undergraduate studies at UC Irvine in biological sciences. After graduation I worked full-time as a high school science teacher in the Montebello Unified School District out of my love for teaching (and to supplement the expenses for medical school interviews!). I attended medical school at the UC Davis School of Medicine, and then had my family medicine residency at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. The following year I also completed my primary care sports medicine fellowship at the Los Angeles Medical Center.
About my practice
My practice is a mix of both primary care and sports medicine referral-based clinics. I see adults (18 and up) in my primary care clinics, and athletes of all ages in my primary care sports medicine clinics.
How I thrive
I thrive by staying active, being outdoors as much as possible, and enjoying many adventures with my wonderful and loving wife.
