About me

Welcome! My name is Dr. McClellan. I look forward to meeting you and hope this page will help you start to get to know me.

Biography

I decided to be a physician because I enjoy working with people and have a desire to understand how the body works. As a L.A. native, I attended UCLA for my undergraduate education. I then attended medical school in Chicago, followed by residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Indiana University in Indianapolis. I am thrilled to be back in Southern California after so many years away.

About my practice

I was drawn to physical medicine and rehabilitation because of the focus on each member's function and quality of life, and I really love what I do. In my practice, I take care of a wide range of physical ailments, with a focus on getting members back to whatever they enjoy in life. I believe that members who take an active role in their recovery achieve the best results. My role is to help augment and guide the recovery process through using a combination of interventions, therapies, medications, and education. I work hard to educate members about their diagnoses and, with their input, come up with reasonable treatment plans to reach their goals.

How I thrive

As a Physiatrist I take care of non-surgical orthopedic conditions that include back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, and arthritis. I do peripheral joint and trigger point injections in office when indicated. My scope of practice also includes nerve conditions such as pinched nerves in the back, carpal tunnel syndrome, and ulnar neuropathies. Additionally, I take care of people who are recovering from strokes or traumatic brain injuries, amputations, spasticity, or general debility. I thrive in environments where people support and care for one another. I believe maintaining a balanced life is very important and love spending time with family and friends. I enjoy playing recreational sports and exploring the city in my free time. Also, I love to travel whenever I get the chance.
