About me
Hi, my name is Behn Khodayari, and it is my privilege to serve members as their radiation oncologist. Each person’s journey is founded upon unique sets of circumstances and goals, and no 2 are identical. It is my core belief that a physician must take the time to understand their patients. This allows me to take care of the person and not just the illness. From our first consultation, I make it my mission to create a customized plan of care to set members up for success—this is the essence of member-centered care.
Biography
I was raised in Los Angeles and completed my undergraduate studies in biology at UC Irvine, a research-based master’s program in physiology at UCLA, my medical degree at UC Davis, my medical internship at UC Davis, and my radiation oncology residency at Kaiser Permanente’s Los Angeles Medical Center.
About my practice
I am a radiation oncologist with clinical expertise in intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT/SABR), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), which allows me to manage complex cases. I am an active member of multiple national societies, a presenter at national conferences, and active in the research community with publications for multiple types of cancer. I take pride in remaining on the frontier of cancer care advancements and offering members modern and up-to-date therapies.
How I thrive
I am very passionate in serving outside of my radiation oncology practice and dedicate time to my community. I was previously a medical director of a free medical clinic serving underprivileged and underresourced patients. I am the founder of an art therapy cancer support group serving patients and caregivers and am often found volunteering at various outreach programs to educate and better serve those in my community. In my free time, I enjoy being within nature, photography, and spending time with my family — preferably all of these at once!
