Where I practice
Hello, and welcome to my Web page. I am grateful to have the opportunity to introduce myself and tell you about my practice. Choosing a physician is a personal matter, and it is very important that you feel comfortable with your physician. The more you know, the more you can feel comfortable.
I was born and grew up in Tehran, Iran. After medical school there, I continued my medical training in the United States. I completed my internal medicine residency at Maricopa Integrated Health System in Phoenix, Arizona, and my nephrology fellowship at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. After a year’s work in private practice, an opportunity arose to join the Riverside Medical Center, where I felt physicians are afforded the ability to practice medicine in members’ best interests, and it was a decision I have never regretted. I’m also clinical faculty at the UC Riverside School of Medicine. I’m involved in teaching internal medicine and nephrology to medical students, interns, and residents.
About my practice
I believe medical care is best delivered through a team-effort approach. I am very fortunate to work with an excellent group of people including physicians, renal dietitians, social workers, and supportive staff. My practice focuses on the prevention and treatment of chronic kidney disease, management of post-kidney transplant patients, improvement of survival and quality of life for those on dialysis, and taking care of members with complicated and rare illnesses. I believe in empowering members and making them an active part of their own health care.
How I thrive
I enjoy hiking, traveling, and reading. My favorite sport is soccer. After work, I try to spend enough time with family, especially my wife. To stay fit at work, I avoid the elevators and take the stairs.
