Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I’m happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of my wonderful colleagues and patients, and look forward to working with your family to care for your child's health.
I was born in South Carolina while my father was training to be a psychiatrist. When I was 4 years old, our family moved back home to the Philippines. That is where I grew up and received my education. I started out my college education and career in the high tech industry. I graduated with a computer science degree (as my father dissuaded me from going into medicine) and took a job as a systems designer. However, I yearned for a career that worked more closely with people, a profession that allowed me to make a direct impact on people's lives. I realized that I wanted to become a physician, like my father. I went back to school and completed my medical degree. I did my pediatric training in the United States. I obtained a master's degree at the Harvard School of Public Health while doing my fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital.
About my practice
Early in my medical career, I stood alongside my mother while she battled breast cancer. I also witnessed the experience of my cousin as her son was diagnosed with autism. These personal experiences have greatly influenced my clinical practice. It has become my lifelong goal to extend to the families I work with the same kind of exceptional and compassionate care that was given to my family. I see each patient encounter as a special opportunity to connect and help families in a meaningful way. The value of listening and responding to families' primary needs and concerns, as well as empowering them with knowledge, are as important to me as providing them with quality medical care and treatment.
How I thrive
I firmly believe in Kaiser Permanente's philosophy of health in mind, body, and spirit. My personal faith is my main priority in maintaining a healthy spiritual life. My family is also very important to me and I value keeping balance in my life. I enjoy riding my mountain bike. I work out regularly in the gym. My family and I love good food and enjoy exploring new restaurants. We try our best to make healthy food choices.
