About me

Hi! My name is Anita, and members call me Dr. A. Welcome to my Web page, and thank you for taking the time to learn about me. I’m a firm believer in choosing a physician you can trust and open up to. I hope my page gives you some insight on my background and training as well as some of the things I am passionate about.

Biography

I grew up in sunny West Los Angeles and went to public school from kindergarten to high school. From an early age, I came to the realization that there is no greater joy than having the opportunity to make someone feel better. For that reason, I’ve participated in community outreach programs and volunteered in community service my whole life. Helping to provide health screenings and educating people about their health gave me a chance to make small impacts and encourage people to play an active role in their health. I come from a big family, most of whom are doctors. I went to Loyola Marymount University for undergrad, where I majored in biology and biochemistry. I graduated in three years and then went on to get my master’s degree in bioethics at Loyola Marymount as well. I love philosophy and am always up for a discussion on bioethics. I went to medical school at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona and completed my family medicine residency at Chino Valley Medical Center, where I was the first female chief my program ever had.

About my practice

When I am not working or volunteering, you can find me at the beach, enjoying the sun and riding some waves! It is a privilege and honor to be entrusted with members’ health. I make sure to take the time to really listen to my members and address their concerns. I encourage members to ask questions, and I take every opportunity to educate them however I can. By developing an active partnership, we can establish goals and develop a plan of care tailored to members’ specific needs. I am passionate about preventive medicine and enjoy educating members on contraceptive counseling, sexually transmitted disease prevention, and reproductive health screenings.

How I thrive

I am a strong advocate of self-care and self-love. After all, you must take care of yourself before you can be of any help to others. In my free time, you can usually find me by the beach. I am an active person, and I love to run, surf, paddle board, or simply sit on the sand and watch the waves. Rain or shine, you can often find me at Santa Monica Beach. I also enjoy cooking and love to create healthy, delicious dishes to share with family and friends.
