Welcome! I feel fortunate to work for a progressive organization like Kaiser Permanente. I hope this Web page will help you get to know me a little better. I appreciate being able to share information about myself, and the practice I share with my colleagues in the Department of Family Medicine at Kaiser Permanente in Riverside.
I’m a Southern California native with a Jamaican cultural heritage. Both of my parents were born in Jamaica and, after marriage, they immigrated to the United States. I’ve been part of the Inland Empire community for some time and value the city of Riverside. I spent four years in Dayton, Ohio—three of those in medical residency, and one working as an instructor in the residency training program at Kettering Medical Center. After that, I was privileged to return to the Riverside community and settle with my family. I’ve been married for over 20 years and have three children. I was blessed to assist in the care of my late mother and to provide continuing care to my father who resides in our home. Both of my parents moved to Riverside in 1978 and have instilled in me the importance of family, community, and caring. I’m unique in family medicine due to my internal medicine training and continue to practice hospital or inpatient medicine for about a week every two to four months. Otherwise, my main practice is clinic or outpatient based.
I chose internal medicine as my specialty because my main interests are how to care for the whole patient, how each system of the body affects another, and how to coordinate optimal medical care. I enjoy talking with my members and explaining medical issues and treatments in ways they can understand. I’m an internal medicine specialist working in the Department of Family Medicine. I’m fortunate to work in a department that honors my commitments to family, members, colleagues, and staff. I’m committed to providing quality care.
I’m an avid sports enthusiast. I enjoy watching football and basketball. I’m constantly on the run, transporting my athletic children and their friends to basketball practice, training, tournaments, and games. My husband and I run a kid-friendly home that’s often overrun with our children and their friends. I’m often the team mom/organizer and maintain an active role in supporting boys and girls booster organizations. I love to travel and cook. I’m most relaxed when hanging out with the family—playing cards or a board game. I refresh myself quarterly by hanging out with my girlfriends at the spa.
