About me

I try to approach each visit with curiosity, care, and respect. I believe trust begins with listening, and my goal is to create a space where people feel supported and safe to share their story with me.

Biography

I was raised on a family dairy farm in rural Minnesota. After earning my undergraduate degree in chemistry from Hamline University in St. Paul, I completed medical school at the University of Minnesota. After training at a community inner-city hospital in Wilmington, Delaware, I moved west to California. Since 2002, I've built over 2 decades of postgraduate clinical experience serving diverse communities in the Sacramento area, then to Seattle before settling in Los Angeles in 2022. I truly appreciate the diversity of care that is required to work in family medicine and enjoy learning from colleagues and members every day I go to work.

About my practice

Every member deserves to feel heard, respected, and supported. My goal is to listen to members so that the care plan reflects their goals and values. I enjoy the wide breadth of family medicine and enjoy my collaboration with specialists within the Kaiser Permanente system to provide high-quality care. I am part of a care team that is committed to creating a welcoming environment where hopefully you will feel comfortable with getting your care.

How I thrive

I keep balance in my life by exercising regularly and spending time birdwatching, which has been a very enriching hobby for me. I also value time spent with my family and pets going on walks, in addition to relaxing at home, watching sporting events or movies.
