Welcome to my page!
I was born and raised in Southern California. I received my degree in biochemistry from UCLA, where I stayed to complete my medical school training. As I had an interest in preventive care, I completed my training in family medicine at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles. During my training, I developed an appreciation of the aging patient and the complexities related to aging. This inspired me to complete a fellowship in geriatrics (care of the older patient) and hospice (comfort care). I came to South Bay in 2010 because of its beautiful weather and diverse patient population.
I am very passionate about both my health and the health of my patients. I’m a big believer in prevention because it is far easier to prevent something or treat a condition early on than to deal with complications later. I consider my relationship with my patients a partnership that involves both of us working together to keep you healthy and help you when you are sick. I am very open and approachable and encourage patients to discuss any concerns regarding their health. As in any other partnership, communication is key.
As physicians, we are lifelong learners. My passion for learning involves not only medicine but also anything I can learn about or learn how to do. Ask any of my family, friends, or colleagues and they’ll tell you I’m constantly doing something. My hobbies consist of spending time with my wife, learning about technology, baking, home improvements, and watching movies. Of course, we have to practice what we preach. Therefore, I stay physically active by running, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, and traveling (involves a lot of walking). Things to learn in the near future: photography, flying, and sailing. Do you have any other recommendations? Let’s talk about it!
