Where I practice
I am privileged to be part of the Kaiser Permanente family, where we provide quality care to our members with compassion and respect.
I am originally from India but have in the United States for more than two decades. I underwent training in internal medicine and gastroenterology and sub-specialized in hepatology at USC. I also earned a master’s degree in clinical investigation from USC, which enabled me design clinical studies and pursue clinical research. I am married with two young kids. We spend time together playing, swimming, dancing and traveling.
About my practice
I am a transplant hepatologist and have been practicing at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center for the last 10 years. The Los Angeles Medical Center is the flagship medical center for management of patients with chronic liver disease, including liver transplantation. I work along with a team of four other transplant hepatologists here, and we have a dedicated team of transplant coordinators and nurses who provide excellent care. I am an active member of our clinical research team that helps offer Kaiser Permanente members the opportunity to receive investigational agents, such as for treatment of chronic hepatitis C infection. I am currently the hepatitis C regional lead for the Kaiser Permanente Southern California region. My work philosophy involves active teamwork, placing my patients’ interest ahead of everything else, being sensitive to their needs, and providing evidence-based care.
How I thrive
My patients are my inspiration and their welfare and well-being gives me great satisfaction. My family is very important to me and I relish my time with my two kids and husband. We travel and engage in outdoor activities and many other fun things, such as classical Indian dancing.
