Kaiser Permanente physician
My gender: Male
Accepting new patients.
Hello, my name is Dr. Javaherian. I am a primary care physician serving patients from Kaiser Permanente's Palmdale office. Medicine is a team sport which requires the active participation of all the players – doctor, patient, specialists, therapists, nurses, and technicians. Working as a unit, we can win the game.
I was born and raised in the wine country of Iran and came to the United States alone when I was still a teen. I finished high school here and put myself through college. When it came time to choose a medical school, at the suggestion of a friend, I applied to the American University of Caribbean in St. Maarten and started my medical training on this idyllic tropical isle. It was a life changing experience which prepared me well to handle the challenging, real-world situations I face today. I also found time to enjoy the sunshine. After medical school, I moved to California to perform my rotations and fulfill my residency. Both were done at Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield. In 2005, I joined Kaiser Permanente as an internist. Today, my entire family resides in the States and many of them are in the medical field. My sister is a pharmacist, and my little brother is studying to be a doctor at USC medical school.
I always attempt to work with my patients to develop a well-thought out approach to addressing their needs. This means spending more time listening instead of just telling patients what to do.
I love to travel, get my exercise by playing tennis, and show my inner geek by building remote controlled helicopters and other interesting high-tech gadgets.
