Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you. It is a privilege to be of assistance to you in your health needs.
Having been born and raised in the tropics, living in Hackensack, New Jersey, where I did my internal medicine training, was a bit of a shocker in terms of the climate, and also because I was away from my family. Nonetheless, I learned a lot from my mentors there. I chose a warmer climate for my fellowship training and went to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento for a nephrology fellowship. I cannot say whether I enjoyed biking or learning nephrology more. The climate in Coachella Valley is another story. I was worried in the beginning whether I could withstand the long hot summers; however, it has grown on me and now I think it is a paradise. My wife, son, and daughter are all doing very well in this wonderful place. We are thankful for the wonderful opportunities and friends that have come our way.
I have come full circle with Kaiser Permanente, having started out as a part-time urgent care physician for Kaiser Permanente in Fairfield, California, when I was still doing specialty training in nephrology at UC Davis Medical Center. Later, I was in private practice for about seven years, where I found out that being a Kaiser Permanente physician was the higher calling. Thus I inquired about a job with Kaiser Permanente and eventually was accepted. I am happy to be in a work environment where we work together as a team to provide our members with the best care possible, Here I have the opportunity to concentrate on two things that I consider to be of the utmost importance: to treat each patient as an individual with individual needs, and to strive to be better than I was the day before.
I firmly believe in the Kaiser Permanente philosophy of health in body, mind, and spirit, and try to live it in my life every day.
