About Me
I am a licensed psychologist who has been at Kaiser Permanente since 1996. Prior to coming to Kaiser Permanente, I worked for Lutheran Family Services as a psychotherapist, and I also served in the past as the Washington County Crisis Team Manager for Metro Crisis. My doctorate is from the University of Oregon, and I also obtained a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from San Diego State University. My work as a psychologist is both intellectually stimulating and emotionally satisfying.
About my practice
At the current time, my practice at Kaiser Permanente is limited to neuropsychological evaluations. These evaluations involve an extended period of time with patients, in which their psychological and cognitive status is assessed in depth. This assessment is done through interview and formal testing. The testing consists of solving puzzles, answering questions, and similar types of intellectual activity. Most patients find neuropsychological evaluations to be challenging but very informative. Patients are seen for neuropsychological assessment only through referral. Referrals usually come from through their primary care provider, neurologist, or other specialty care provider.
How I thrive
Like most of my colleagues and patients, I enjoy spending time with my family, which includes my wife and two children. One of my "escapes" is spending time on the golf course, and I play year-round with friends and family. Needless to say, I have good rain gear! I also enjoy reading and watching an occasional movie. Being a University of Oregon graduate, I watch a variety of Duck sports, and my wife and I go down to Eugene on occasion to take in a game.
