About Me
Hello, and welcome to my Web page! I am glad to have an opportunity to introduce myself and to tell you a bit about myself, how I arrived at a career in dermatology, and why I enjoy practicing medicine at Kaiser Permanente.
Biography
I was born and raised in a suburb of New York City. As a teenager, I knew I wanted to practice medicine. This led me to Providence, Rhode Island where I completed both my undergraduate studies in biochemistry as well as my medical education at Brown University. While in medical school, I considered the medical specialties of obstetrics and gynecology, as well as plastic surgery. Ultimately, I found dermatology most appealing since it offered the opportunity to apply medical, surgical, and cosmetic skills in the care of patients of all ages while develop long term doctor-patient relationships. I completed my medical internship at Johns Hopkins/ Sinai Hospital in Baltimore followed by a dermatology residency at University of Maryland. After that, my husband and I moved to San Diego and we’ve been here ever since. I practiced dermatology in San Diego for seven years before joining Kaiser Permanente. I was drawn to Kaiser Permanente for its camaraderie and collaborative, team approach to patient care. I am truly thrilled to be a Kaiser Permanent physician.
About my practice
I am a board certified dermatologist. I practice medical and surgical dermatology at the San Marcos Medical Offices as well as cosmetic dermatology in the Carmel Valley Medical Offices. I believe that every person should know their skin in order to keep it healthy. To that end, I am committed to educating my patients on their skin conditions and developing a skin care routine that best fits their needs.
How I thrive
I thrive by cultivating an attitude of appreciation. I am grateful for my wonderful family. Outside of the office, I enjoy Pilates, spinning, cooking, knitting, and traveling. When visiting New York, we never miss an opportunity to catch a Broadway musical.
