About Me
Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself, and the Kaiser Permanente Dermatology Department. We are a caring and knowledgeable group, and want to partner with you in your medical care to help you live happier and healthier lives.
Biography
I am originally from New York City – which I’ve been told, is immediately obvious once I start speaking. I developed an interest in medicine during my high school years by volunteering in an emergency room in Harlem. I attended college and medical school at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, but returned to New York, for residencies in pediatrics and dermatology at Bellevue-New York University Medical Center. I taught at New York University for a couple of years, and then moved to Florida, where I worked as a part-time dermatologist and a full-time mother for six years. I then moved to upstate New York, where I was in solo private practice for eleven years. I moved with my family to Southern California, and I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2006.
About my practice
Dermatology is a wonderful field.. I enjoy caring for my patients, and getting to know them. The Dermatology Department strives to deliver excellent care for patients of all ages with skin-related disorders.
How I thrive
My husband and I have raised three children to young adulthood, and continue to take pleasure in their personalities, talents, and achievements. We have enjoyed exploring the various locations where we have lived – traveling throughout Florida, from St. Augustine to Key West, hiking the Adirondacks, and cross-country skiing in New York. We now enjoy the mountains and beaches of the West Coast. Cooking is my personal pleasure. This became especially challenging when my children decided to become vegetarians in their early teens – prompting their parents to change their diet as well. I enjoy caring for my patients, visiting with family on both coasts, and making time to experience the great outdoors.
