About Me
I have been a pediatric nurse practitioner for 37 years and a nurse for even longer. I have been with Kaiser Permanente since 1989 in Perinatal Hospital and Home Care. I obtained my nursing degree from Walter Reed Army Medical Center/University of Maryland. I completed my nurse practitioner training when I was active duty in the Army and have a master’s degree in nursing in community health from the University of Colorado. I served in the Army Nurse Corps (active duty) for 11 years and an additional 11 years in the Army Reserves. I am a retired Lieutenant Colonel.
About my practice
I thoroughly enjoy working with families and their new babies in the hospital and home setting. It is great to hear their birth story and to help them transition into their new roles as parents. I'm very supportive of breastfeeding and try hard to help families achieve their goals. I have been an Internationally Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) for more than 10 years.
How I thrive
I am married and have 2 young-adult sons and a miniature Schnauzer who is very much a part of the family. My hobbies are reading, crafts, sewing, scrap booking, and gardening. I love to go for long walks and hikes in the mountains. I travel when I can. I thoroughly enjoy living in Colorado and have been here since 1980.
