About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my work as a physician and physician administrator at Kaiser Permanente. I specialize in preventive medicine. I practiced for more than 25 years at the Riverside and Fontana Medical Centers, and in 2000 I transitioned into an administrative role as a regional administrative physician. In this role I work with the Kaiser Permanente HealthConnect® Project for Southern California within the Systems Solutions and Deployment Department, overseeing clinical systems integration.

Biography

I am a native Southern Californian who grew up in El Sereno (northeastern Los Angeles). Our social support system included church, friends, and family, and we worked with the poor in Los Angeles and Mexico. I knew I wanted to be able to make a real difference in the lives of those around me. Medicine gives me the opportunity to combine my clinical background in preventive medicine with computer systems integration, in order to look for new approaches to improving the health and lives of my patients.

About my practice

I feel that preventive care and a good partnership with you are the best ways to help you stay healthy. However, I am also here to help you when you are sick.

How I thrive

Keeping my family at the core of my life has grounded my work in medicine and allowed me to enjoy the most important things life has to offer. My grandchildren keep me young, and my children always remind me of what dreams are made of. I have traveled and lived in other countries, and experiencing these cultural differences has enriched my view of life. I enjoy the outdoors and I get on the tennis court four times a week.
