About Me
I was born in south Texas along the border with Mexico. This is where I grew up. Becoming a doctor is something I wanted to do since I was a boy. My mother is a nurse and I always found myself reading through her medical books or spending time with her at the hospital. I’ve always been innately drawn to science and people. Medicine has been the perfect fit as a career for me. It was in medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio that I realized how much I enjoyed taking care of children and adolescents. After my residency training in Austin, Texas, I moved to Burlington, Vermont and worked throughout New England as a general pediatrician. I am now excited to be part of the Kaiser Permanente family and to be in Fort Collins!
About my practice
To me pediatrics is a special branch of medicine that involves more than simply caring for ill children. I believe in having a family based approach to caring for my patients. Although I enjoy promoting healthy lifestyles and wellness for children, I have a specific interest in pediatric neurology. My practice style is based on the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics. I also welcome Spanish speaking patients into my practice.
How I thrive
Like most Coloradoans, I do well in settings with opportunities for yearlong outdoor activities. I enjoy snowboarding, running, hiking, and golf. I love spending time with friends and family. Good food is essential to my wellbeing. I agree with the idea that it takes a village to raise a family and thrive in communities that promote this concept.
