About Me
Welcome to my Web page. I'm happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of my wonderful colleagues and our members, and I look forward to working with you to care for your health.
Biography
I grew up in the mountains of North Carolina and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for my undergraduate studies (Go Heels!). I earned my medical degree at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, N.C. After that, I completed my residency in pediatrics at UCLA School of Medicine, and then stayed on for a three-year fellowship in allergy and immunology. I then joined the faculty at Duke University School of Medicine. My wife and I decided to come back to California so I could join Kaiser Permanente and work with an amazing group of colleagues. We also wanted to be closer to family, and we missed the great weather.
About my practice
While my background is in pediatrics, I specialize in allergy and immunology in both children and adults. This includes allergic rhinitis, eczema, asthma, food allergies, and immune deficiencies. I am particularly passionate about educating doctors and members about food allergies. I am on the medical advisory team of kidswithfoodallergies.org, a national support group. I believe wholeheartedly in health in mind, body, and spirit, which is why I joined Kaiser Permanente. I feel very honored that members have entrusted me with their care and I strive to treat them as I would my own family.
How I thrive
I enjoy spending time outdoors with my wife and two sons. The great weather we have in San Diego makes our trips to the beach, walks, and runs so much fun. We enjoy taking our kids to parks and participate in sports as well as explore the San Diego area.
