About Me
Hi! I am Dr. Heidi Remulla, a board-certified family medicine doctor who lives locally in the High Desert.
Biography
I was born and raised in the Philippines, and with both my parents in the medical field, I was exposed to the hospital way of life at an early age. I finished my residency in ophthalmology in the Philippines and my fellowship training in oculoplastics/orbit surgery at Harvard University. I practiced as an oculoplastic surgeon for several years in the Philippines before moving to California in 2007. I was determined to continue a career in medicine in the U.S. I went through another family medicine residency program at Kaiser Permanente’s Riverside Medical Center. Helping and treating people is my way of serving and glorifying God. I love ballet, having danced as a professional ballerina in the past. I also learned to do kickboxing and achieved an assistant instructor rank. I am married to an ophthalmologist who practices in Apple Valley. We have two grown children.
About my practice
I am a full-time family medicine physician with an interest in preventive medicine. I believe that it is much wiser to prevent disease rather than to treat an ailment and its associated complications. Helping patients is a two-way interaction, so I encourage my patients to be proactive and work with me in maintaining their health and well-being. Because of my background in ophthalmology, I have an added interest in eye diseases and in performing minor surgery.
How I thrive
I thrive by keeping myself spiritually and physically healthy. I maintain my religious faith and try to keep a balance between work, family, friends, art, and recreation. I enjoy cooking, baking, and trying out new healthy recipes. If I had more time, I would love to spend it dancing, teaching ballet, and kickboxing.
