About Me
I was born and raised in Calgary, Canada and attended the University of Alberta Medical School in Edmonton, Alberta. I completed my residency in family medicine at the University of Wyoming. I have lived and practiced in Portland for the past 16 years. My wife and I have raised two daughters here.
About my practice
I was trained in family medicine, and was in regular clinic practice for 30 years, but for the past several years, I have been working exclusively in urgent care at the Mt. Scott Clinic. I have enjoyed my time in urgent care tremendously. I love the variety, and I find working with more acutely ill patients both challenging and very rewarding. For me, the key is to make a patient totally comfortable within the first few seconds of the visit, and have them leave the clinic feeling confident about the treatment plan, and that they've really been listened to and treated as an individual.
How I thrive
My family and I love living in the Northwest - it's so naturally beautiful here, and there are so many opportunities for interesting activities during leisure hours. In the winter, we ski at Mount Hood as often as possible, and, in the summer, we hike, bike, kayak, and play tennis and racquetball. Regardless of the season, rain or shine, we walk our 170 pound Irish Wolfhound twice every day.
