About Me
Growing up in a small town in Mississippi helped me realize the importance of great, caring doctors. We only had a few doctors in my town, and the majority of health care needs required a drive to a larger, neighboring town. I felt the call to practice medicine during my high school years, seeing both sides of my family riddled by heart disease and other medical challenges. I wanted to dive right into the medical profession to help find answers on how to keep my family healthy.
Knowing that I was a hands-on, procedure-oriented person, Ob/Gyn certainly seemed the right niche for my talents when I was in medical school. The first baby I delivered was an experience I will never forget, and one that still excites me each and every time I participate in bringing a life into the world.
About my practice
After a brief stint in private practice in Rome, Ga., I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2001. My desire to participate in the administrative side of medicine became a reality for me with Kaiser Permanente. I have held several roles in our organization including physician team leader for the Ob/Gyn Department at TownPark, managing physician at TownPark, Cumberland and West Cobb and chief of Ob/Gyn. I currently serve as National Director of Clinical Customer Engagement for Kaiser Permanente.
I am passionate about describing the unique value proposition of Kaiser Permanente medicine to our existing and prospective customers across the country. My specific clinical interests include women's preventive health, family planning, contraceptive health and LGBTQ care.
How I thrive
For me to truly thrive requires a balance of the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual entities. I like to strike that balance by hiking and rafting in the North Georgia mountains and other parts of the U.S., and by traveling internationally to immerse myself in other cultures. I also enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends by cooking for them and trying new restaurants.
