About Me

Hello, my name is Philip Shie and welcome to my Web page. I am glad to have this opportunity to share my views and story with you.

Biography

I'm originally from Fort Worth, Texas, a small suburb right next to Dallas. For my education and training, I've been to Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Dallas with many small stops elsewhere. My interest in medicine was sparked by an incident in high school while volunteering with the emergency care unit. On a cardiac arrest call, I watched in astonishment as the paramedics revived our lifeless patient. At that moment, I wanted to have the knowledge and ability to heal. I knew that I wanted to be a doctor. To me, the best, most rewarding medicine involves sitting with a patient to understand his or her illness and its impact on life and family. Medicine can treat, but I firmly believe that knowledge and education can cure.

About my practice

I am in the specialty of nuclear medicine, which uses radioactive material to diagnose and treat different medical issues. We are a small and cohesive department that fosters and encourages a trusting and friendly environment. We like to treat our patients the same way we would treat our own family. We work together to place member care as our top priority.

How I thrive

I love spending time with family and friends. Life is pretty busy with two kids, but somehow my wife and I seem to manage. In my spare time I enjoy cycling, photography, and woodworking. I also like to just sit down and catch up with friends over a cup of coffee. Life is precious. I try to enjoy every moment and appreciate the simple things.
