About Me
Welcome to my Web page! I am happy to have the chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I feel very fortunate to be working with our excellent team here at Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center. It is important that you have confidence and feel comfortable with me as your urologist, and I hope this page will help you get to know me.
Biography
I was born and raised in Michigan. I attended the University of Michigan for college, and I earned my medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. During medical school, I was selected to participate in the Howard Hughes Medical Institute-National Institutes of Health Research Scholars Program at the Surgery Branch of the National Cancer Institute. After medical school, I headed east to the bright lights of New York City and completed an internship in general surgery and a residency in urology at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia University Medical Center. I then moved out to the West Coast to complete fellowships in urologic oncology, endourology, and minimally invasive surgery at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, and I served as a clinical instructor at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. Additionally, I received my MBA at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, I was in private practice in the San Fernando Valley.
About my practice
My practice involves all areas of general urology. I have a special interest and expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of genitourinary cancers. I am a certified da Vinci robotic surgeon and have extensive fellowship training in all three primary areas of surgery—open, laparoscopic, and robotic—for the management of complex urologic disorders, and I tailor the care that I provide each individual member. I try to keep you well informed so that you can be an active participant in your health care.
How I thrive
I believe in the importance of a healthy and well-balanced lifestyle. I enjoy spending my free time with my wife and family, traveling, keeping up with sports, watching good movies, reading, and attending concerts. I regularly go to the gym, and I run a few times a week. I have run a marathon and a few shorter races, and I hope to make time to run many more in the future. I also make an effort to eat healthy and nutritious meals. Lastly, I always strive to do my best and then I let God do the rest.
