About Me
I am originally from Buffalo, NY, but since I have lived in Colorado for my entire adult life, I consider myself a near "native." My entire career has been in Pediatrics. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I practiced nursing in neonatal intensive care, pediatric intensive care, pediatric emergency and also was the nurse manager of the pediatric unit at Rose Medical Center for 10 years. I competed my master's degree in nursing and my Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. I am credentialed with a national organization as a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practioner. After graduating, I began my PNP career in private practice for 10 years before joining Kaiser Permanente in 2006. I am delighted to be a primary care provider at Kaiser Permanente.
About my practice
Given my great appreciation for children and their families, providing care within the pediatric primary care setting is ideal for me. Within my practice, I offer well care and physicals as well as care of acute illnesses for ages infancy through adolescense. I enjoy all ages, and believe that open communication, making sure children and families feel heard and are actively involved in developing their plan of care is an important philosophy of my practice style. As a nurse practioner, my forte is focusing on achieving and maintaining wellness and providing education and support to families.
How I thrive
Thriving is all about wellness, balance and living the best life possible. I have a wonderful husband and two children; my son who is now a young adult and also a teen daughter who has lots of activities, The experience of motherhood has taught me much about health in children and I am so thankful for them both. To ensure my own thriving, I enjoy multiple forms of dance, gardening, trying out new recipes, reading and studying the french language. I even have a french email pal and we converse in order to help each other with learning the languages.
