About Me
My family is originally from Japan. I lost my brother from leukemia when he was 23 years old. This event had largely influenced my decision to become a physician. I am a graduate of Oregon Health and Science University school of medicine.
About my practice
I am a physician for inpatient care, also known as a Hospitalist. I believe that communication is the most important initial step in helping my patients. I believe in quality of life and the autonomy of my patients. It is important to me that my patient knows they are the one that has the power to heal themselves and I am devoted to help my patients do just that. I believe in strong connection between mind and body, thus it is important to pay attention to their emotional health as well. One of my passions is completion of life issues. I believe we don't always have a chance to discuss this important topic. Completion of life comes to all of us and my passion is to be able to help people so they can make a peaceful decision of their own.
How I thrive
I enjoy people and their beautiful spirit. I have to confess I am not much of an outdoor person, but enjoy social dancing such as ball room, West coast swing and Argentine Tango to keep my spirit healthy. I also enjoy cooking to share a conversation with my friends over a meal. This is also very healing to me. Healthy spirit can reside in a healthy body, but even you suffer from physical illness our spirit can always be healthy.
