About Me

Hi, I am Dr. Chen! I am very excited to be a part of a team of great physicians at Kaiser Permanente. As a board-certified physician in the specialty of female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, I see, evaluate, and treat women with these bothersome issues.

Biography

My mother was an inspiration behind my dream to pursue a medical career. Accompanying her to her countless number of doctor's appointments planted a little seed within me when I was young to one day be a person others can come to for help.

About my practice

Pelvic floor disorders can have a very negative impact on quality of life. Pelvic floor disorders range from pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, overactive bladder, vaginal and vulvar problems, bladder and pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, to other difficulties related to voiding and defecation. It is common. One in four women suffer from one or more of these conditions. And these numbers are likely to rise with our aging population. The good news is that we are better at addressing these problems today. In April 2011, the American Board of Medical Specialties officially recognized the subspecialty of Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery, as one that now requires specific additional fellowship training and certification. I am a board certified urogynecologist and I look forward to helping you with your needs in this area.

How I thrive

Having family and good friends to share my day-to-day moments is very important to me. Exercising, getting enough sleep, and eating well are also important to my physical and mental well-being.
