About Me

"Doctors give drugs of which they know little, for diseases of which they know less, into bodies, of which they know nothing at all." I have always tried to incorporate the cautionary wisdom of Voltaire's words into my everyday practice. I believe that much healing is achieved by getting to know your patient and understanding their circumstances.I grew up in one of the most populous cities in the world, Bombay, India, where I completed my medical school training at the University of Bombay. I moved to the U.S. in 2002 and completed my residency training at St. Joseph Hospital, which is the main Kaiser Permanente hospital in Denver, Co. Living in Denver not only converted me into a lifelong Broncos fan, but also gave me an opportunity to experience firsthand the care and dedication of Kaiser Permanente physicians towards their patients. I then moved to North Carolina, which is where I met my husband while finishing my cardiology fellowship at UNC- Chapel Hill. Having decided to spend the rest of our lives in the Southeast, I was thrilled at the opportunity to join the exceptional and growing team of Kaiser Permanente cardiologists here in Atlanta.

About my practice

I am a general cardiologist having completed additional training in advanced cardiac imaging, such as 3D echo and cardiac CT. This has helped cultivate my focus and particular interest in the fields of advanced heart failure, preventive cardiology and women's health.

How I thrive

I truly believe that the best form of health care is prevention. I try to stay active, at work and at home, by incorporating simple strategies like taking the stairs instead of the elevator and going on long walks with our puppy each day. Though I am not a gym fanatic, I have recently rediscovered my passion for dancing through Zumba classes. I have also been active as a speaker at various preventive health forums such as the Diabetes Sisters, and community partnership forums such as Aurora Asian/Pacific Community Partnership and Sister Cities International.
