About Me
I was born and raised in Kealakekua on the Big Island and graduated from Konawaena High School. I am grateful for my wife, who has been a strong supporter of me throughout my medical career.
About my practice
When I was growing up, my father was the only laboratory technologist and the only X-ray technologist at Kona Hospital. The most important factors in my decision to become a doctor were my exposure to the hospital, my fascination with the sciences, and the idea of using science to help people directly. My love of anatomy made radiology an easy choice for my specialty. To keep up-to-date with the most current research, I maintain membership in the Radiological Society of North America, attend conferences, and read professional journals. Within the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group I have found excellent physicians, progressive administrators, and up-to-date technology that allows the physicians to be as efficient as they can be. My philosophy is to listen closely to what my patients have to say and to make every effort to show them that I truly care. Among my most rewarding experiences as a doctor are when I am able to diagnose diseases early, which ultimately leads to a cure.
How I thrive
To stay healthy and active, I run and do strength training several times a week. I also love watching my daughter play competitive soccer, and I serve on the board of the Maui United Soccer Club.
