About Me
I was born and raised in Minnesota. Determined to live in a climate conducive to more outdoor activities, I decided to move to the beautiful Pacific Northwest for my medical residency — and I have never looked back. My love for treating complicated patients with multiple medical problems led me to internal medicine, and I am especially drawn to inpatient medicine. I also am interested in wellness and lifestyle practices that can keep us healthier — physically and mentally. Through my training, I have found fulfillment not only in helping my patients in their time of need but also empowering them so that they can take the best care of themselves.
About my practice
I work as a hospitalist, which means that I care for adults who are in the hospital and act as their primary doctor during that hospital stay — often collaborating with consultant physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other parts of the care team. I believe that clear communication helps the team to function at its best. A large part of my job is advocating for my patients. I also have an interest in caring for patients with complex medical problems and those who need extra support on their healing journey.
How I thrive
I have always had a passion for exercise and nutrition. I like to incorporate yoga, running, and group fitness classes into my routine, as well as outdoor activities such as hiking, cross-country skiing, and kayaking. I am a huge proponent of daily meditation. Socializing with friends and traveling are important to me, as is having time by myself to relax and unwind.
