About Me
I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. I moved to Colorado to pursue my undergraduate education from the University of Colorado and to explore all that our wilderness areas have to offer. My freshman year of college I was offered an opportunity to go back to Pennsylvania to be a camp counselor for an outdoor program. I believe that it was this experience that revealed to me the power of healing through community, nature and oneself. This laid the groundwork for how I approach my current practice as a mental health student, advocate and provider for mental health. I tell people that I have the best job in the world. I feel so privileged to be a part of people’s unique experience and growth process. To bear witness to the human spirit and its ability to change is truly inspiring.
About my practice
The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) therapists are licensed mental health therapists who specialize in providing intensive treatment to adults and teenagers who may need short term intensive services to restore or regain your quality of life. One you have received the maximum benefit from these intensive services the IOP therapists will work to transition you to a specialty Behavioral Health therapist for on-going care and treatment. The IOP Program provides groups that meet multiple times a week for 1 to 3 hours per session. Referrals to this program can be made by outpatient therapists, psychiatrists, crisis clinicians or as a step down from inpatient care.
How I thrive
I gain additional inspiration by pursuing other recreational activities with friends, family and community. The curiosity for physical experiences that led me to skiing, mountain biking and climbing has also evolved into SCUBA diving and most recently Jiu-Jitsu. Interestingly enough, Jiu-Jitsu is a fantastic place to practice mindfulness.
