About Me
Welcome, and thank you for visiting my Web page. I am a head and neck surgeon at Kaiser Permanente in Kern County/Bakersfield.
Biography
My hometown is Chicago and is where I received most of my education and training. I went into medicine because I thought it would be a challenging field in which to pursue my science and math interests. I have always enjoyed helping people and am hardworking by nature, so medicine has proven to be a rewarding career and a great fit for my personality.
About my practice
I am a surgeon, and my specialty is otolaryngology/head and neck surgery. Many people refer to me as an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialist, but my practice also includes the subspecialties of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, endoscopic procedures to diagnose and treat disorders of the upper airway and sinuses, tumor surgery of the neck and salivary glands, and treatment of a wide variety of other disorders in the head and neck region, some of which can be taken care of with in-office treatment. Of course, an ENT physician is the one to see for tonsil and adenoid surgery. I try to give my patients the best care possible and make each visit a pleasant one.
How I thrive
I like to keep active and try to maintain some degree of physical fitness. My hobbies are hiking, biking, listening to music, watching movies, and foreign travel. I can speak and understand Spanish fairly well, and this has proved useful to my Hispanic patients.
