About Me

Welcome to my Web page! I am proud to be a member of your Kaiser Permanente Ob/Gyn team. Having been a Kaiser Permanente patient most of my life, I feel fortunate to have experienced our patient-centered care personally. I hope that this page will help you to get to know me and look forward to working together with you to care for your health.

Biography

I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. I received my undergraduate degree in microbiology from UC Davis in 1999. My next move brought me to Southern California where I received my medical degree from UC Irvine in 2003. I also met my future husband at UCI. In 2004, I completed an internship in family medicine at Scripps Family Medicine Program in Chula Vista. Having a special interest in women's health, I went on to complete my Ob/Gyn residency at White Memorial Medical Center in 2008. My husband and I dreamed of returning to San Diego and did in 2008. We now have three wonderful children and are amazed every day at how lucky we are to call such a beautiful place home.

About my practice

Starting off my training in family medicine gave me a wonderful foundation to focus on women's health. In caring for the women of our lives, I am able to support families and communities. I feel honored to be a part of that and make it my goal to provide my patients with the highest-possible quality of care at all stages of their lives. I have been fortunate enough to participate in medical missionary work in Guatemala as part of a gynecologic surgical team in 2009 and 2014. This was a truly rewarding experience and I hope to be able to participate in more missions like this throughout my career.

How I thrive

Balance is something that I am constantly trying to achieve in my life. My patient and kind husband of 13 years and endless support from my mom have helped me keep that goal in reach. My husband and I met salsa dancing and we can still be caught commanding the dance floor from time to time. I have been blessed with three beautiful children and enjoy any time I can spend with them! From popcorn and movie night, to living room dance parties, to quick trips to the beach, our time together is always fun. Taking personal time to keep my mind and body fit is also something I try to make time for on a regular basis. My favorite things to do are cardio hip hop, yoga, running, gardening, and cooking.
