About Me

Hi, I’m Dr. Perez! Thanks for taking the time to learn more about me. It is important to feel comfortable with your obstetrics and gynecology (Ob/Gyn) doctor because this member-physician relationship is uniquely sensitive.

Biography

I grew up in South Florida and went to Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, where I majored in biology and played volleyball. I graduated medical school at the University of Miami in 2011. I chose the Ob/Gyn specialty because I enjoy taking care of women, both medically and surgically, at all stages of life. I completed my residency training at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, where I was able to care for patients with complex obstetric and gynecologic cases in an underserved urban area. I also served as the administrative chief there and helped develop a new curriculum for my residency program with the director. My husband and I moved to California when I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2015. Since we’ve moved here, we now have 2 young daughters, 1 old dog, and 2 cats!

About my practice

I hope to help you achieve your health goals by keeping you informed and actively participating in your care. Whether you need care for adolescent health issues, having a baby, managing pain or bleeding, or menopause, my goal is to work together with you to help you live a healthy life! I practice the full scope of Ob/Gyn care and enjoy contraceptive counseling, obstetrics, treatment of abnormal pap tests, and gynecologic surgery, including minimally invasive techniques. I am board certified in Ob/Gyn and plan to add a minimally invasive surgery designation certificate in 2021. Also, I am recently board certified in lifestyle medicine, which is a specialty that focuses on addressing the root causes of disease with therapies based on evidence and current research that affect lifestyle behaviors such as diet, exercise, sleep, social connectivity, and stress. I hope to expand this practice to treat polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), menopause, chronic pain, and more.

How I thrive

I live a healthy life by keeping my mind calm and my body active. Since moving to Orange County, my husband and I have enjoyed surfing, hiking, and taking our daughters and old pup on our adventures. The weather and activities in Southern California are ideal for exploring the outdoors and getting exercise. When it comes to lifestyle, I like to practice what I preach with stress management, eating a whole food and plant-based diet, doing regular physical activity (make exercise FUN!), and connecting with family, friends, and colleagues. I hope I can help you thrive too!
