About Me

I believe doctors and patients are partners in a health care team, and it's important for all patients to know a little bit about their doctors' backgrounds, credentials, experiences, and interests. I am glad to have this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself.

Biography

I grew up in Southern California and attended high school in Huntington Beach. As a child, I always had interest in math and physics. I pursued a career in engineering and graduated from UC Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and computer science. After working in the field for a short time in San Jose, I missed daily interactions with different people and found a new interest in the eye and visual system. I decided to go back to school and received my doctor of optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry. My wife and I are blessed with 3 children.

About my practice

I had worked in private optometry and ophthalmology practices. I joined Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles in 1998, and transferred to Orange County in 2003. I enjoy the multidisciplinary health care team and advanced technology here at Kaiser Permanente. It's a great place to provide comprehensive care to our members, and it's satisfying for me to have this opportunity to take care of members’ eye health and visual needs.

How I thrive

On my off days, I like to spend time with my wife and kids at the beach or park. Also, I enjoy meeting up with colleagues and friends for a round of golf. It's very relaxing and therapeutic for me mentally and physically to walk the golf course.
