About Me
I became a physician to help people in their most vulnerable moments. The most rewarding part of being a physician is being able to work with patients to help them achieve their health goals and live the quality of life they desire. I grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and then went to college and medical school at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, followed by my residency at University of Tennessee in Knoxville. I continued my training with a fellowship at the Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
About my practice
I chose to be a primary care sports medicine physician to help patients achieve the quality of life they desire. This field allows me to connect and build a relationship with patients, diagnosing you primarily by discussing your injury history and conducting a physical exam. I enjoy sitting down with you, discussing your problems and creating a treatment plan together. I am here for you and my goal is to help achieve your goals. I practice medicine by individualizing each person’s issue. Two people may have the same diagnosis, but treatment could be vastly different depending on the individual’s needs and the treatment plan we come up with together. I love the procedural aspect of this field, including trigger point injections, joint injections, ultrasound guided injections and so much more, which can help you with your pain and get you back to your desired activity level as quickly and as safely as possible. I enjoy working with all kinds of athletes, from 5-year-olds playing recreational sports, to collegiate and professional athletes, to weekend warriors. I also like taking care of osteoarthritis patients and helping them remain active and pain-free.
How I thrive
In addition to being a physician, my favorite things to do are baking, sewing, and anything outdoors, especially watersports and skiing. I also enjoy volunteering. I have spent a lot of time volunteering as a tutor for underprivileged children and helping create a community garden.
