About Me
Hello. I appreciate the opportunity to present my background and style of medical practice. Along with similar presentations by my colleagues, I hope this will assist you in choosing a personal physician who will be well suited to your needs and desires.
Biography
I was raised in Oklahoma. I attended college on the East Coast, came west for medical school, served in the US Army in Honolulu, and then returned to complete my medical training. In 1978, I entered medical practice with Kaiser Permanente in the Bay Area, and then joined a primary care/preventive medicine clinic in Bakersfield. I remained in private practice until 1990, when I rejoined Kaiser Permanente in Panorama City. During these years, I also served as an ordained minister. I have three children, and as of this writing two grandchildren. I am a violinist, I like to sing, I love children, and I enjoy the relaxation and rest of fishing.
About my practice
I value individuals very highly. My greatest medical interest is in nutrition and prevention. One of my goals is to be able to create and maintain such excellent health in myself and others that diseases are prevented, thereby eliminating much future trouble and expense. In the office, I try to spend the time necessary with each patient, within the requirements of my daily schedule. I encourage my staff to relate as a team. I am not afraid of lists of problems, and questions about alternative approaches to an individual's needs. My goal is to help a patient find whatever path will lead to the greatest health and fulfillment. I encourage family input and participation.
How I thrive
What I offer to members, I try to do first in my own life. My main personal focus is a healthy life balance. To thrive is a goal is a lifelong pursuit with many hurdles. My spiritual life and commitment come first. I try to eat well, sleep soundly, exercise enough, and keep a mental and emotional balance. I thrive on creativity and healthy challenges and goals. I love nature, music, history, science, archaeology, languages, and the Bible. I am eager to learn. I am active in many aspects of church life. I appreciate people from different cultures. I love family.
