About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I’m pleased to have this opportunity to introduce myself to you and to tell you about my practice.

Biography

I grew up in Colorado, and later attended UCLA for my undergraduate studies, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. My uncle was a vascular surgeon and greatly influenced my career direction. I’ve been married to my lovely wife since 1988 and we have two children.

About my practice

After finishing my vascular surgery fellowship in 1993, my first position was as an assistant professor of surgery at UC San Diego. I left UC San Diego in 1996 to enter private practice in Reno, Nevada. After 10 years in Reno, I returned to San Diego to join Kaiser Permanente. I enjoy practicing at Kaiser Permanente because of the excellent team of professionals with whom I have the privilege of working.

How I thrive

I’ve always believed that a healthy mind and body go hand in hand, and I try to keep active both physically and mentally. I enjoy bicycling, skiing, water sports, and golf. My family and I also take advantage of the many cultural and educational events that are available in the San Diego region.
