About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this opportunity to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I enjoy working at Kaiser Permanente and am thankful to be part of an organization with so many great colleagues and members.

Biography

I was born in Seoul, Korea, and immigrated to the United States when I was 14. I grew up observing my father help the poor through medical care and decided to follow in his footsteps. After completing my college education in the San Francisco Bay Area, I went to Chicago for medical school. I went to Los Angeles for internship and residency. I moved to Northern California for fellowship and a master's in clinical research, then returned to Southern California to be near family. Having lived in different areas, I realize that there is no place like Southern California!

About my practice

I always strive to provide excellent medical care with compassion. I believe my patients deserve my very best. Although I see members with a variety of digestive problems, I derive the most satisfaction from performing advanced endoscopic procedures. I have been fortunate to be a part of a number of clinical research projects, and continue to be involved in conducting research.

How I thrive

Maintaining a healthy spiritual life is very important to me and I enjoy attending a local church. When I am not working, I like spending time with my family and volunteering for organizations that help those in need, as I feel this is one of my callings in life. I love music, especially singing.
