About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this opportunity to introduce myself and tell you a bit about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente amidst all the wonderful people in Southern California. I look forward to meeting you in person and having the opportunity to care for your rheumatologic conditions.

Biography

I grew up in India and was fortunate to have my parents encourage me to choose medicine as a profession so that I could help others. After completing my training in internal medicine, I chose rheumatology as my subspecialty because I was touched by a little girl’s experience with lupus. I received my formal training in rheumatology in the United States. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, I practiced academic medicine at the University of Arkansas, Little Rock, and helped train residents and rheumatology fellows. I serve as volunteer faculty at UC Irvine.

About my practice

As a physician, I am privileged to interact with my patients, who share with me their personal life experiences and hopes. It is truly an honor to be in a position to listen to them describe their needs and be able to give personalized attention to them and their families. It gives me a great sense of personal pride and honor to know that my patients have entrusted me with their care, and I strive to treat them as I would my own family. It is always a pleasure to hear back from my patients who have favorably responded to my care and be told that I have truly made a difference in their lives.

How I thrive

Although my practice keeps me busy, I enjoy taking family vacations and visiting new places. I play the sitar (a musical string instrument). Meditation and spirituality bring solace to my mind. I try to walk every day, and I promise myself to go to the gym every time I get on a scale or finish a truly delectable dessert. I enjoy cooking various cuisines and spending time with family and friends.
