About Me

Welcome to my Web page. It's very important that you feel comfortable with your physician, and I hope this page will help you start to get to know me. I'm happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my work as a physician, surgeon, and Chief of Podiatry at Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park.

I have lived in California for 40 years. As a young child, I knew that I wanted to be a doctor, but it wasn't until college that I decided to become a foot and ankle surgeon. I have been involved in athletics all my life, both playing sports as well as treating athletes. I saw many foot and ankle injuries, and I knew that I could make a difference in people's lives by becoming a foot and ankle surgeon. I did my undergraduate studies locally at Occidental College and completed my medical studies at the California College of Podiatric Medicine. My residency and surgical training was completed through the VA Hospital in San Francisco and through Kaiser Permanente in Portland, Oregon, part of the Legacy Health Systems Portland Hospital Residency program. In residency I learned the value of the integrated Kaiser Permanente system and felt that this model provides the way to deliver high-quality care to my patients.

About my practice

I am a podiatric physician and surgeon and have practiced for more than 15 years at Baldwin Park Medical Center. In 2005, I transitioned into my administrative role as chief of the department, and have additionally filled roles on various committees and served as the president of the medical staff at Baldwin Park Medical Center. I feel fortunate to be able to work at Kaiser Permanente as a clinician and surgeon, as well as an administrator. Podiatric medicine and surgery offers a unique opportunity to help people stay on their feet, promoting activity that maintains health. I support preventive care as a strategy for staying healthy whenever possible. However, surgery is an option when it’s needed to control painful conditions and deformities of the foot and ankle. In addition, I have significant experience with sports injuries and treatment, as well as with trauma surgery of the foot and ankle.

How I thrive

Keeping balance in my life is very important to me. I firmly believe in Kaiser Permanente's emphasis on health in mind, body, and spirit, and try to live it in my life every day. I exercise daily and I eat healthy foods—yes, I enjoy my broccoli! Staying fit allows me to pursue my love for nature and photography through hiking. My family life is a major priority as well. I enjoy family vacations to national parks like Yosemite and annual trips to Colorado. I also make it a priority to set aside time to just relax, read a good novel, or have quiet family time at home.
