About Me
I’m happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you. I am an internal medicine physician with a specialty in geriatric medicine, and hospice and palliative medicine. I feel fortunate to be able to work at Kaiser Permanente as a clinician who is working to make our organization the best health care delivery system in the country.
Biography
I was born and raised in the Chicago. After I graduated from medical school, I moved to San Francisco for my internal medicine residency. Afterwards, I completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine at UCLA. I have lived in San Diego since completing my fellowship. Kaiser Permanente in San Diego has a wonderful Geriatric, Hospice & Palliative Medicine Department, which is very well respected and supportive in caring for those in need of these services. I’m very happy with my decision to practice medicine with Kaiser Permanente in San Diego.
About my practice
I work in both the continuing care services and hospice and palliative medicine. I see members in the nursing home and also do home hospice and palliative care. I really enjoy my work and feel like I make a difference in my community every day. The people I care for and their family members teach me about what is truly important and help me keep a positive perspective on my own life.
How I thrive
I find balance by staying connected with my family while caring for myself. After work, my energy and attention go immediately toward my husband and my children. I am also very close to my extended family in Chicago. I enjoy running to keep my body and mind healthy. I was an accomplished runner in the past and it helped get me through many difficult times. It’s a constant struggle to balance my time between caring for my family, my career, and myself, but it’s all worth it. I really try to make a difference in others’ lives while taking care of my own.
